Remember, Stowers is a non-profit. It's the for-profit companies that have an interest in that kind of thing. You're just echoing Bartle's statements. Since I know that the only reason he's saying this kind of crap is to hide that his actions will cause not only Stowers but any other research that some church might decide it doesn't like to not come to Missouri. They don't want to be potentially handcuffed in the direction their research might take. But Bartle can't have that truth realized so he claims other motivations and reasons to avoid blame coming his way. He's a self-righteous fundamentalist twit who wants the state to ban any activity that he and his minister don't approve of and sees no reason that the state and church shouldn't merge.
