Region’s first Ozone Alert issued for Friday

MARC has issued an Ozone Alert for Friday, June 15.

High levels of ground-level ozone can cause respiratory problems in those with cardiovascular or respiratory problems. If you spend time outdoors, then take care.

People are encouraged to limit time outdoors (especially between mid-morning and the evening), cut back on driving, avoid filling your gas tank, and postpone mowing.

The KCATA and The Jo will offer 50 cent fares during Ozone Alert days.
