At first I dismissed Mike Sanders complaints about inheriting a budget shambles as just more political posturing against his bitterly-hated predecessor. But now with news that the county is borrowing $20 million and laying off 100-plus employees, no one can write if off as just a political stunt.

What? Katheryn Shields did a bad job of managing $$ and people? I wonder if that’s why we had a plan for stadium upkeep and that money mysteriously disappeared somewhere leading us to an “emergency” $600 million tax increase…
Shields spent money like a drunken pirate her last year in office, 2006 ($12,000,000 in no-bid personal service contracts let by her in the last year alone). I think she did it on purpose for two reasons: To help herself in her Mayor’s run, and to screw her successor. She was worthless. There’s a reason we gave her less than 1% of the vote last February, everyone was tired of her incompetence and bully-tactics.
…now if we can just get her to move out of the neighborhood.
