Light Rail Forums tonight, tomorrow

The kids at KCLightRail.com just reminded us that your first chance to provide input to the KCATA on light rail is this week. Their post has all the deets.

On a related note, KC Star gossiper Hearne Christopher Jr. reports that “yet another local media poll shows Clay Chastain’s light rail plan [is] way out in front of efforts by a group of business leaders to get it overturned.”

Great stuff, Dave. I think the term “repeal” is gonna blow up in their faces. People who really want Clay’s plan are the ones who are are going to brave that frigid February day to get out and vote. I for one can’t wait to see it shoved down their throats. Jim Nutter and Greg Patterson can go to hell.

I’m not sure I understand the bile directed at Jim Nutter and Greg Patterson. They’re just exercising the same rights that Clay Chastain has enjoyed in his never-ending quest to leave his mark on Kansas City.

Given the traditionally low turnout for municipal elections, the February result is hardly likely to be a resounding victory for either side. I doubt the “Presidential Preference Primary” will change that. If anything, a small minority will impose their will on a largely apathetic and lazy majority. However this thing shakes out, Kansas City gets what it deserves.

You don’t understand what it’s about, Patrick? Like Clay’s plan or not, at least it’s about promoting progress instead of trying to stifle it, like Nutter and Patterson are doing. But since you are always a major hand-wringer here, I can see why that’s not clear to you. If you hate KC so much, why do you live here?
