Waldo Astoria rebuilding

The owners of the old Waldo Astoria building that burned down in February have shared their plans to rebuild on the same site at 75th and Washington. The plan is for a similar building, but with a green roof and more sidewalk space for pedestrians, cafe tables, and bike parking. Kennedy’s Bar & Grill will likely re-open in the same spot. The building will be designed by local starchitects El Dorado, whose other restaurant work includes Bar Natasha in the Crossroads, The Mixx in the South Plaza, and the Dwell-featured 5 Delaware lofts in the River Market.
