City CFO Fired

Update: Not Ready for Prime Buzz had this news first, and the extra info that Deb may have come out on the losing end of a disagreement with Councilman Terry Riley.

Prime Buzz reports that City Manager Wayne Cauthen has fired Chief Financial Officer Deb Hinsvark after accusing her of leaking financial details of the floundering Citadel Plaza redevelopment at 63rd and Prospect. They don’t say what she is alleged to have leaked, but it’s no secret that the project is in deep trouble. It’s been making headlines for at least a year over botched asbestos cleanup and other problems.

I wonder if it’s a good idea to fire the CFO when you are trying to plug a $15 million budget hole?

    the Citadel deal is an over $40 million handout deal to some crooked developers.

    it obligates the city to that much debt. the developers are under investigation by HUD.

    THIS IS A HUGE SCANDAL THAT WILL MAKE THE TRACY HOUSES SEEM LIKE NOTHING.

    start digging by watching the 2/21 finance committee for 070212. hinsvark probably wouldn’t sign the agreement so cauthen fired her.
