Tour of Missouri

On Tuesday the Kansas City region will be start of the first Tour of Missouri professional bicycle race. Race organizers are billing it at as the biggest sporting event in the history of Missouri – bigger than a Superbowl or Final Four. Tour de France champion Alberto Contador and his Discovery Channel team will be here, along with folks like George Hincapie, Levi Lleipheimer, and hundreds of international racers.

As many as 50,000 spectators are expected at the start/finish line on the Country Club Plaza and along the route that includes Ward Parkway, Midtown, Downtown, NKC, Parkville, Riverside, and Platte City. KCBike.Info has a guide to where/when/how to see the race.
