Weekend Events

Two of the city’s biggest annual events are going on simultaneously this weekend.  The 76th annual Plaza Art Fair on the Country Club Plaza bills itself as on of the top ten arts fairs in the country.  And don’t forget the alternative UnPlaza Art Fair nearby in Southmoreland.  Meanwhile, Oktoberfest will be happning at Crown Center.  Let’s hope they avoid the recent Irish fest overcrowding debacle.  Using Union Station should help, even though the acoustics there absolutely atrocious for any kind of music.

Most of the Plaza will be closed to traffic this weekend, as will Grand Boulevard and Pershing Road in Crown Center. The MAX and several other bus lines will be detoured.

    Me too. Although, some bus routes get detoured so often for summer events, I’m starting to think certain routes need a “regular route” and a “summer route” to avoid all the confusion. I took the MAX to the Plaza Art Fair last summer and was glad I did.
