810 Zone sued for 3:00 a.m. license
October 27, 2007 |
A bunch of richy-riches are suing the city and 810 Zone over the granting of a 3:00 a.m. liquor license for the new restaurant and bar at 47th and Broadway on the Plaza. 810 Zone is virtually underneath the posh Townsend Place condo tower. This kindof thing was probably inevitable given how the Highwoods company has been evolving the Plaza away from purely shopping into more of an entertainment destination. But since the Plaza has functioned for years as the closest thing KC has to a 24/7 Downtown, residents shouldn’t be too surprised about a some noise.
810 Zone just happens be located right at the interface between the commercial buildings in the valley and residential towers on the hills above. Other bars and clubs like Kona Grill and Blonde are closer to Brush Creek where there are few residential buildings.

i didn’t think there were any 3 a.m. licenses on the plaza?
810 is the first 3am license AFIK. But you know since 810 got one that Blonde will want one
I hope 810 wins. Boo hoo.
I hope 810 due to there are people living in an area where they do not want drunks in their area at 3 am .
Just like the Cashew who didn’t get theres. I wonder why 810 got there in the first place.
Hmmmm.
Both Fred P. Ott’s and Granfalloon are 3am places. Also, I think, but am not totally sure, that Tomfooleries is another one.
The falloon and fooleries both stay open until 3am.
