While they don’t seem to be promoting it, KMBC-TV 9 is posting many of their news reports on YouTube. The station appears to be the first in KC doing this. Many people have problems withe kmbc.com’s Windows Media-based video player, so having the same content available via YouTube’s Flash player is very helpful.

Good for KMBC! Why EVERY media outlet in every town doesn’t do this, I don’t know.
It’s an easy way to advertise your media to the world. YouTube, Flickr, Podcasts, MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, etc… these are the modern internet tools/sites that attract viewers. Putting content in these places is a great way to connect to the public. The other stations (including the Star and local radio stations, too) should have been putting their content in these more accessible places a LONG time ago.
