When Staley High School opens as the North Kansas City School District’s fourth high school in August 2008, it will be the first LEED certified school building in the four-state area. The building will feature things like geo-thermal HVAC, rainwater re-use, and all materials from within 500 miles. Construction costs will be about one percent higher, are expected to be recouped in lower operating costs within five years.
The new Staley High School is located next to the posh Staley Farms golf course community near NE 106th and North Woodland.
