@BlogKCAnother highish-profile Republican is following in Chris Koster’s footsteps and switching over to the Democratic Party. This time it is Chris Benjamin, the former Chief of Staff for House Speaker Rod Jetton. The funny part is that Benjamin is running for same Senate seat that Koster is vacating to run for Attorney General.
The 31st Senate district includes KC’s far south suburbs in Cass County (Harrisonville, Belton, etc), plus Johnson County (Warrensburg), Bates County (Butler), and Vernon County (Nevada). Here is a PDF map of the 31st.
