@BlogKCBottom Line Communications asserts that Richard Tolbert played the media in his recent campaign to “save” Bannister Mall from redevelopment into a soccer stadium and business/retail complex. John Landsberg argues that Tolbert used the phony campaign simply get himself some free press. He goes on to argue that the petition to recall Mayor Funkhouser is likely a similar attention-grabbing effort.

As far as the Funkhouser recall, most of the people I’ve talked to are willing to let this term play out, but they do regret voting for him (although they had little choice considering the alternative was 82 years old) and won’t vote for him again…
