Area politician wants the Big B for state beer

…Budweiser.

The Star reports that Independence Rep. Curt Dougherty is pushing…Budweiser–Budweiser!–for Missouri’s state beer. Not sure if there’s more to this report or not–it’s pretty short and credits no author–but… Not to discredit the, um, stature of the “King of Beers,” but we do have a local brewery. This just boggles the mind. I’m going to go grab a Pale Ale and start enjoying the weekend.

    That’s an awesome idea! Maybe we could also build a Famous Dave’s Barbecue downtown as well!

    State beer???? Way to totally snub the smaller breweries in our state. What is that based on anyway. Glad our lawmakers are hard at work. Wonder how much Budweiser is paying Dougherty to do this!
