Blunt wants money to rehab abandoned governor’s mansion

KMBC-TV 9 reports that Governor Matt Blunt wants $3 million from the state to fix up the governor’s mansion in Jefferson City.  It sounds like a steep bill, but deferred repairs can really pile up when a house sits vacant for four years. Too bad the mansion isn’t in Kansas City, where we specialize in handing out tax breaks to big developers who have let their property sit vacant and become blighted.

Seriously though, the new roof is desparately needed to protect the new panic button system.

  1. Joe in KC says:

How about we give that 3 million to a homeless shelter or something…get rid of the “mansion” make the governor pay a mortgage like the rest of us…sheesh.
