There are some spots on 39th Street near Roanoke where the potholes have worn down to the original brick, which is in perfect condition. Just get rid of the asphalt and mortar on these streets, and the ridiculous and expensive (and seemingly constant) "repaving" won't be necessary. Plus, the bumpy ride will force the traffic to slow down, a good thing, since a lot of KC drivers treat every street as if it were a highway.

the thing i don't understand about this is, if he was the friggin' city auditor for the past umpteen years, how could he not have known that he wouldn't be able to spend $35 million on street repairs because of the impending budget shortfall?!? good gawd.
