Overland Park and other distant suburbs need to brace for the shock of their lives. There will be no contest between the cost of "private", "good" schools vs. the burden of trying to unload a crappy McMansion nobody wants to buy. The illusion of fabulousness on a budget means the death of the suburbs in the absence of cheap energy. None of the suburban homes will sell for close to their original price, let alone more. That's not just a bad investment, it's financial suicide.
