Labor Day Festivals

August 28, 2008 |

If high transportation costs has you stuck in town over the Labor Day weekend, there will still be some great entertainment options available.

Irish Fest
One of the country’s biggest Irish festivals runs Friday-Sunday at Crown Center.  This year they are expanding into Washington Square Park, so hopefully that hill help alleviate the overcrowding that happened last year. Get your $10 admission and head on down there for some Guinness, Boulevard, or meat pies.

SantaCaliGon Days
Celebrate our region’s history at the start of three famous pioneer trails and at this western-themed festival.  Admission is free and it runs Friday-Monday on the historic Independence Square.

Symphony in the Park
On Sunday the Kansas City Symphony heads out to the western ‘burbs for a pops concert at Shawnee Mission Park.

Check out Present Magazine’s Play List for all the other arts and music events going on this weekend.
