Food pantries plead for help

October 11, 2008 |

The twin crisis of a declining economy and increased food costs are hitting local food pantries really hard.  Harvesters, the main supplier to most local pantries, is running really on food just the need for its services is increasing.  The Salvation Army recently had to close its Grandview pantry when it ran out of food.

If you can spare some money, please make a donation to Harvesters right now. You can do it online, and even setup a monthly automatic donation plan. Or, drop off non-perishable items at a location near you.

I know several local bloggers volunteer their time at Harvesters, but right now food and/or money is needed even more.  So I challenge you to send a little something there way today.
