Last day to register to vote
October 7, 2008 | 1 Comment
Wednesday is the last day to register for the November 4th election. Besides the presidential race, there is also light rail in KCMO, the Governor of Missouri, Congress, and various state and local races. Kansans have a bit longer to register, until October 20.
Vote early (not often) – Lines at polling places are expected to be very long this year, so consider voting early. Kansas has an official early voting policy, whereas in Missouri you technically have to be out of town to vote absentee. You can cast an absentee ballot at any of the election boards listed below, or at a special absentee voting location for the KCMO Election Board.
Register at:
- Any Missouri DMV office
- Most public libraries in the city
- Most suburban city halls
- KCMO City Hall, first floor lobby, (for any city resident) at 12th and Oak
- KCMO Election Board (city residents south of the river), 1828 Walnut
- Jackson County Election Board (county residents outside of KCMO)
- Clay County Election Board, several locations
- Platte County Election Board, several locations
- Cass County Clerk
- Johnson County, KS Election Board
- Wyandotte County Election Board
