The Business Journal reports that one of Johnson County’s biggest home builders has gone out of business, and several others are on the ropes. We don’t know how things going in the Missouri suburbs, since the Biz Journal predictably only reported on the JoCo market. Meanwhile, the market is looking better in KCMO. The Northland continues to hold steady, with KCMO building more houses than Olathe and Overland Park combined. While the condo market has definitely slowed Downtown, the rental market is on fire. Most buildings are at or near full occupancy with waiting lists. Condo developers are starting to switch rentals for some new projects.
