Cuts at suburban papers

December 21, 2008 | Comments Off

The Star isn’t the only local newspaper hurting these days.  KMBC-TV 9 reports that the Independence Examiner will stop publishing on Mondays, leaving the eastern suburbs with Tuesday-Saturday service.

The Sun group of suburban newspapers has also made some cutbacks recently.  First, the Raytown Tribune was closed down and is no longer being published.  More recently the Johnson County Sun announced that it would save money by stopping home delivery and sending the newspaper in the mail instead.
