KCK bans smoking, kindof

December 19, 2008 | 2 Comments

Last night the KCK/Wyandotte County Board of Commissioners finally got around to passing a smoking ban of sorts. The ban wouldn’t really take full effect for three years, but because businesses can apply for licenses to keep allowing smoking for three more years.  Other exceptions include the city’s many private clubs and any future casinos.

Like KCMO and other metro cities, smoking at casino’s would be banned when all metro casinos fall under a smoking ban.  The problem is that the other cities include the 7th Street Indian casino, while KCK does not.  So no metro casino will be going smoke free any time soon.

i have respect for anyone who runs a blog.
i have respect for people who care about their city. but i have to say that the entries are on the glass/empty side. but it’s fitting to KC, because it’s a city of crazy people, and i don’t mean that in a funny way. i have a great idea, lets put casino’s on the river…. see what i mean. bartle hall has to be one of the ugliest buildings on earth. hey let’s buy a $500,000 dollar townhouse in the river market. the river market is more hype than reality, but never the less, people spend half a million dollars to do it. let’s get one thing straight, space is not a premium in kansas city. it’s a con job for the soulless trend seekers. look at this smoking ban. it’s retarded. it’s banned, but it’s not… if you get a license for 3 years, but no it’s ok in casinos blah blah blah…. what a clusterf$%$%$%k. what am i supposed to do take notes and make a map of where to go for a smoke….crap i don’t even smoke, i never even understood what the benefits were?
it’s a retarded habit that cost thousands of dollars a year. smoke pot, at least that gives you insight. if KC had a brain, it would legalize pot. it would be the amsterdam of the heartland (and i’m a casual 3 joints a year kind of person). screws the FEDS, they have proven they are incompetent. screw the christians, they had the bright idea of putting casinos on rivers. (pssst.. the casino’s should have been put in in the union station area)……if KC had BRAIN POWER….but it’s relentlessly crazy stupid, the Union Station would be thriving. people on the rail line on the outside of kansas city could have taken the train into town and spend the weekend in a nice hotel getaway right in the crown center area. the casinos would have poured money in the area. created many more jobs. the half ass river system is beyond stupid… it’s KC at it’s finest. and what’s up with this funkhouser lawsuit thang, how many years is this stupid thing going to go on.

one more thought about the casinos in the union station area . just think how glad the casinos would have been to chip into the light rail system. yeah i know gambling ruins lives. blah blah blah, as jim M said, “no one here get’s out alive”. and one thing is for sure KC will ruin your life one way or another.
