New law for registering vacant properties

The city is on the verge of enacting a new law to require registration of vacant properties.  It’s a good compliment to the new landlord licensing law, and should help the city get a better handle on the vacant and foreclosed properties that blight many neighborhoods. While the law won’t actually do anything to put those properties back into use, it’s a good first step towards that goal.
