KC just lost out on 800 jobs that will instead be going to Michigan.  The Missouri Senate has been sitting on Governor Nixon’s economic development bill for weeks, a bill would have made Missouri’s proposal for the battery plant much more competitive.

This should have been a no-brainer.  The battery company, Kokam, is a based nearby in Lee’s Summit.  Their batteries will go into the new Smith Electric Vehicles that will be assembled here in KCMO. Now the local company will make the batteries in Michigan and ship them back to KC.

actually, it’s reportedly 900 jobs and it’s important that we thank the Southeast Missouri REPUBLICAN Senator Jason Crowell for his FILIBUSTER on this bill.

A big, “hats off!” to you, Senator Crowell. Thanks so much! Missouri needed those jobs you short-sighted, demagoguing chucklehead.
