troostfestposterTroost Avenue has a history of being a racial dividing line in Kansas City, but the street’s present is more about bridging divides.  It is where diverse communities are coming together to create a new future – artists, neighborhood activists, students, bicyclists, regular folks, and many more.

This Saturday the Troost Festival celebrates many of those efforts, and provides a family-friendly day of entertainment and education.  If your perception of  Troost Avenue is shaped by the media or urban legend, go find out how it really is.  It’s not your father’s Troost.
