I agree that the SM district is in a decline, but it will take a lot longer than 10 years to get where we are in KC. Congrats to Lincoln, I had a few friends go there when I was growing up and the students there always seemed dedicated, and if they weren’t as bright as some, the school didn’t sit idly by and let them fail.

It’s sad but true, the Shawnee Mission district is going downhill fast. It’s ironic that the district that benefited most from white flight now finds itself in a similar situation.

Congrats to Lincoln and Park Hill! Not surprised about Shawnee Mission. That district is in a sharp decline. Affluent and middle class people are fleeing Northeast JoCo and heading far south. Shawnee Mission is only about 10 years away from becoming the next KCK or KCMO school district. History repeats itself.
