Foodie showdown Downtown

It’s on… Upscale sandwich/salad/soup hot spots The Mixx and Ingredient are now open less than a block from each other.

The Mixx is a popular locally-owned establishment in the South Plaza neighborhood and now has a second location in the Power & Light District at 13th and Main Streets. (more from The Pitch)

Meanwhile, Ingredient just opened at 12th and Main Streets, in the space at the base of the Town Pavilion that has housed a long lineup of failed restaurant concepts.  These interlopers from Lawrence, Kansas also have branches in Johnson County, Columbia, and soon the Country Club Plaza. These are both great additions to Downtown, so hopefully the market is big enough for both.
