Merry X-Mess!

So for once the TV folks actually got it right.  Yay! They’re saying don’t try driving if you don’t absolutely have to.  If you do, be aware that the City will ticket folks stuck on major roads without snow/all-weather tires. And no parking on emergency snow routes.  Snow plows are working their way towards neighborhood streets.  Call 3-1-1 or 816-513-1313 to report problems to snow plow crews.

Sledding?
Of course Suicide Hill at E. 57th and Brookside Boulevard is a well-known favorite in the south.  Westwood Park at W. 47th and State Line Road is popular for Midtowners, especially night-time adult sledding.  Ditto for Roanoke Park off of W. 39th St.  Some other popular spots…

  • Case Park at 8th and Pennsylvania on Quality Hill Downtown.
  • Waterworks Park on North Oak.
  • North Terrace Park in the Old Northeast, especially behind the Kansas City Museum on Gladstone Boulevard at Waldrond Ave.

What’s your favorite sledding hill?

I can’t believe they call that Suicide Hill. They need to see the one behind Maplewood Elementary school at 52nd and North Brighton.
