		<description>It is definitely a point of controversy here in St. Louis. I don&#039;t think the cops on the beat support the city taking control of the Metropolitan Police Dept., what with the record of corruption on varying levels at St. Louis City Hall.</description>

Do you really want the same group that gave the city manager a big raise before firing him when they got over their hurt feelings a few months later to have responsibility over our safety?  Do you really want our police protection centered on wealthy developers, the way our economic policy is?

The police department is the best-functioning agency in the city or county government.  Let&#039;s not &quot;fix&quot; it.</description>
