When I wrote to my councilperson about this, I was advised to attend an "Urban Summit" meeting, complete with workshops on "demystifying budget terminology" and so forth. Is it just me, or does this sound like they're trying to baffle dissenters with BS, pat us on the head, and condescendingly explain why this kind of waste is *good* for us? I could be wrong--the descriptions of the workshops are extremely vague--but that's the first thing that came to mind.

When an action doesn't make any sense it means it's pure politics and that isn't good.
