Local death panels begin tonight

Attention KC area liberals. In case you didn’t get the secret memo from San Francisco, the first health care reform death panel convenes tonight at 8:00 p.m. at Californo’s in Westport.  Rumored to be on the agenda are Clay Chastain, Matt Bartle, and most of John Knox Village.

In other news, the KCMO School District has announced that it will be the first local district to serve Soylent Green in school cafeterias, by the end of the month.

I can’t tell if you’re being facetious or not.

That said, many western countries have universal healthcare and their people don’t eat Soylent Green. We’re barely going to have arguably universal-ish coverage now. So I don’t think the government will require we eat people. But let me know if you see Charlton Heston about.

There was a great Frontline episode about this topic that is more than worth anyone’s time who might be skeptical about the need for major health reform.(available to watch online for free): http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/sickaroundtheworld/

    Enjoy!

Five minutes after the vote I got the following text message from my son: “I want my death panel and I want it now. My landlord is really annoying me.”

I betcha he’ll wish he had fixed the shower when a death panel shows up at his door!
