The rumor mill is saying that popular Country Club Plaza establishments ReVerse and Granfalloon might be getting the boot from the Highwoods company. The two businesses share the southern half of the building at Jefferson and Ward Parkway, facing Brush Creek.  Any guesses as to what Highwoods might have planned for that building?

The Brookside Art Annual returns next Friday-Sunday at 63rd and Wornall. Irony much?  The KC Star reports on yesterday’s teabagger protest at the CommunityAmerica Ballpark in KCK’s Village West- a shopping district made possible by the unprecedented government largess and corporate welfare that they were protesting.

Last year’s documentary about the decline and redevelopment of Downtown Kansas City has gone national. It is currently airing on PBS stations across the country.  Unfortunately it doesn’t seem to be scheduled for another local showing anytime soon.

Assistant Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters-Baker was the only person to file for election in Missouri House District 39, a seat currently held by outgoing Rep. Beth Low and before that Marsha Campbell.  So the city’s most liberal, politically active neighborhoods will have no choice to make this November.
