John Toplikar, the Johnson County Commissioner caught on video stealing campaign signs, has lost his reelection bid to Calvin Hayden. Although the margin is very slim and looks like Toplikdar could request a recount.

Star publisher breaking the law with double registration?

From Jeff Roe comes news that KC Star Publisher Greg Ziemen is potentially committing election fraud by being registered to vote in two places - Kansas City, MO and Overland Park, KS. Ironically, in 2004 The Star published a big investigative piece on this very topic of Kansas Citians voting in both states.

Snafu in Clay County Commission race

It appears that Democrat Larry Larson, Clay County’s Western District Commissioner, defended his seat from Republican challenger Bonnie Sue Cooper, former State Representative and KCMO City Councilmember. However, Cooper is calling for a new election because 3200 ballots had the wrong race printed on them.
