Punditry weighs in on next move for Missouri GOP
January 23, 2008 | 5 Comments
This morning the pundits are quick to put forth their scenarios for what happens to the governor’s race without incumbent Matt Blunt. While Democrats were jumping for joy with the announcement of their hated nemesis stepping down, it might actually be the Republicans with the most to gain from this move.
That is because without the [...]

Buh-bye, Baby Blunt
January 22, 2008 | 7 Comments
Today Missouri Governor Matt Blunt stunned the state with a YouTube video announcing that he was dropping out of the race for re-election. The spin is that Blunt says was able to do everything he wanted in one term and doesn’t need another four years.

What’s interesting is that Nixon leads across virtually all demographic and geographic groups, including in Blunt’s backyard in the Ozarks. The only group where the governor [...]

Missouri Gov. Matt Blunt signed HB54 today, putting the state on the list of non-federal entities taking the lead in diversifying our energy portfolio. The signing ceremony was held at KCP&L’s Iatan II “clean” coal power plant, but the focus of the legislation is setting targets for utilities to use renewable (non-fossilized) sources — 4% [...]

Minimum wage not for everyone
March 7, 2007 | 7 Comments
Missouri’s new minimum wage increase included a raise for tipped employees like waiters, but Governor Blunt’s administration is actively encouraging employers to ignore the new law. Save Our Tips is a new campaign asking the governor to follow the law.
